Steenkamp named Blue Bulls skipper

Ruan Steenkamp (Gallo)

Blue Bulls mentor Nollis Marais has named an accomplished squad for their Currie Cup battle with Ruan Steenkamp selected as skipper.

The 49-man squad incorporates Springbok scrumhalves Piet van Zyl and Rudy Paige and in addition wing Jamba Ulengo.

Steenkamp assumes control over the captaincy in spite of the fact that he has been precluded of the opening few days of the opposition because of hamstring damage.

The squad sees the arrival of prop Dayan van der Westhuizen and bolt Irne Herbst, who have recently finished their advance stretch with the Southern Kings, and also the incorporation of Blitzbok forward Tim Agaba.

Jan Serfontein, Jesse Kriel, Lood de Jager, Trevor Nyakane and Handré Pollard have tripartite concurrences with the Springboks set up and won't be accessible for the Currie Cup.

The Bulls open their battle against the Griquas in Kimberley on Saturday. They at that point have a bye before going up against the Golden Lions in their first home round of the competition.

Marais communicated energy about the competition, planning to go one superior to a year ago, when the Blue Bulls lost in the last against the Free State Cheetahs.

"It is an energizing time for every one of us. Our new Executive of Rugby, John Mitchell, has gone along with us now and his info will be enormous," he said.

"We will be attempting to fabricate our one of a kind style and in spite of the fact that we will require time to discover our feet in doing as such, the concentration will be advancing each week and expand on that as the season advances."

The Night Everything Clicked for Grammy-Nominated Chainsmokers

The morning the Grammy Awards nominations (@ recordingacademy ) were announced, the Chainsmokers (@ thechainsmokers ) were in line waiting for coffee and doughnuts.  “It was 8 a.m. in Boston, and our tour manager was with us, plus a bunch of strangers,” says Alex Pall, one half of the EDM duo nominated for three Grammys, including Best New Artist. “We bought everyone coffee!” This year, the Chainsmokers will release their first full-length album and hit the road for a 40-city North American tour, but Alex recalls the moment everything clicked: the night they created “Roses,” their second single. “Up to that point, we had always been kind of trying to make music that fit into something. ‘Can DJs play this in clubs? Will people be able to play it at festivals? Does this sound like what’s popular right now?’” explains Alex. “‘Roses’ was one of the first songs we made where we wanted to play it over and over again just for ourselves.”
